HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT DOESN'T WORK HARD.

Movie Poster

Ok now this was fun!  I had fun and got frusterated many times  but finally came through!  My first thought was to go for more of a top gun look.  I am totally into airplanes and the  guy in the poster is my little brother actually. I was trying to use a sunset as my back round first time but then realized that the poster just looked boring so i changed to this.  I first started off with my brother and cropped him out of a regular picture then i inserted the wave following with the lighning.  One of the many things that i learned in photoshop this time around was the smudge effect.  Now with the water i used the smudge tool to kind of blend things together.  That is the thing i was having the hardest time with was blending.  But when i started using the smudge tool i started to make what almost looks like a monster at the top of the wave and i kind of went with it.  It was cool i thought with the almost pink lightning in front of it.  And after that i inserted the airplane.  Now this is what i had the most difficulty with in making it look somewhat realistic.  I tried adding shadows or anything and I am still unhappy with it. But overal was a fun exerience.  O yes and lastley the font.  I ended up using Nueva Std along with makeing it bold and not completley huge.  and at the bottom dedicated this first poster of mine to my brother. overall i had a blast.

Escape to Freedom

I orignally was going to pick something funny but decided to go with something more serious.  I have this book called What Would You Do If You Had No Fear? by Diane Conway.  I have read the book in the past and I remember it because it is a really inspiring book about life and how you shouldn't be afraid to take any chances in life.  And i do believe that very much.  I created this picture by distorting an image of a lion to make the image more intense.  I chose a saying that is from To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee.  I think the saying tells you that courage is not what everyone thinks or what we made it out to be.  Courage is what you make it.  I chose a more faded font that almost becomes apart of the picture because the lion in itself, I believe shows COURAGE.

not so good

Found this movie poster and found it very boring.  When you look at it seems like any other type of ocean movie with sharks.  They could have done a lot better.  With all of the same color and not much for the viewer to think about.

Good

Found this poster when I was mostly snooping around google and came across this.  I find this most amazing because of the black and white contrast.  And how the light seems to be shining through the windows from the backround.  This one caught my attention the most because I want to know what it is about by the way this poster looks.  With the red color usage that they used at the top it makes the poster more dynamic. Red, black and white are one of the best color combonaitons.  Even though they are not that bright they make the loudest statement.  This poster is simple yet complicated at the same time and to me that is what makes it awesome.  I think they did really well with this because it is well put together with not alot in the back round.

Me in a NUTSHELL

I consider my self to be a pretty laid back person.  I like to go with the flow and like to have a good time all the time.  I go by my saying at the top of my blog because I honstley believe the harder you work and the harder you put your mind to something the more you can make things no matter how talented you are.  The picture that I picked for my profile picture represents how I feel inside.  The look of a sunset on the beach is so relaxing to me and calming.  I took that picture when I was in California two years ago.   I probably took a dozen pictures of just that one suset because I found peace in.  Mostly I am intersted in working hard and going after what I believe in.  I like to get things done when I can, be with the people that I love and can't wait till tomorrow but live in the moment as much as possible. The reason why I have Lady Gaga on my page because I look up to her.  I recently saw one of her concerts and realized how much of a role model she actually is.   She believes in believing in yourself and not caring about what other people think.  She is different in her own ways but flaunts that and shows what she has and that is why people like her and that is why I respect her and her work.  Which brings me back to my saying at the top of my blog.  Yes, she has talent but she also has worked very hard to get where she is and I respect that and that is what I believe in. Hard work pays off.
